Terms & Conditions

1.0 Equipment

1.1 On our climbing courses, we provide all technical and safety equipment. You will need to bring suitable clothing, food, and drink for the day. For some courses, it is assumed you may have your own equipment; you are welcome to use this, provided it meets our safety standards.

1.2 If you have any questions or require some kit to borrow, please get in touch prior to the start of your course to arrange this. 

2.0 Payment & Deposits 

2.1 EP Guiding requires an initial deposit to be paid before the start of bookings to secure booking dates for clients and assure availability. Deposits represent 50% of the total course cost.​

2.2 Payment of the total course cost is due 30 days before the date of the booking. We accept bank transfers or Pay-pal Payments .

3.0 Under 18's 

3.1 We can only accept participants under 18 if accompanied by a participating parent or legal guardian.

4.0 Cancellation by us

4.1 While every attempt will be made to ensure courses run as scheduled, we will notify you of any cancellation as soon as possible if we believe there are reasonable grounds for cancellation due to dangerous or unsuitable conditions. Simply being wet and windy is NOT grounds for cancellation! In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your course, you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date. Please note that we will not be liable for any travel or accommodation-related expenses.

5.0 Cancellation by you

5.1 You may attempt to fill your space with another participant, by agreement with us.

  • More than 28 days before the course start date: If notice is given more than 28 days before the course, we will offer alternative dates or refund 50% of your course payment.

  • Within 28 days of the course start date: 100% of the course fee will be charged.

6.0 Health & Safety 

6.1 The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) Participation Statement issued by the BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of, and accept these risks and be responsible for their own involvement.

6.2 By booking a course clients are aware and accept these risks and will be responsible for their own actions & involvement. We will teach clients how to manage these, but can never completely remove them.

6.3 For all activities, EP Guiding Guides provide an online form that will need to be signed by any client, covering medical, risk and liability factors of any booking. Clients are responsible for the full disclosure of any medical conditions or disabilities that Instructors needs to be aware of to assure personal and group safety during courses and guided bookings.

6.4 EP Guiding reserve the right to omit or cancel bookings at any time if clients engage in aggressive, disrespectful, discriminatory, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour towards instructors or fellow participants. This includes, but is not limited to verbal abuse, physical threats, harassment, or any actions that compromise the safety or well-being of our team members. In such cases, EP Guidng  reserves the right to refuse service and cancel bookings without refund. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all participants and appreciate client cooperation in upholding these standards.

7.0 Insurance & Loss

7.1 We have full public liability insurance, but we strongly advise you to take out your own personal accident, cancellation, and travel insurance. If you already have insurance, please ensure it covers the activities you will be undertaking.

We do not include personal accident, cancellation, third-party liability, or personal insurance as part of your booking. We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
